“Everyday People”

Sly And The Family Stone used to sing a song called “Everyday People” back in the ’70s.

The first verse says it all.

Sometimes I’m right then I can be wrong
My own beliefs are in my songs
A butcher, a banker, a drummer and then
Makes no difference what group I’m in
I am everyday people

I often think about how different we all are. How hard it can be sometimes in the struggle to make this thing called life work. No matter who we are and no matter what out current situation we’ve got to remember that we are”Everyday People” and resolve to keep livin’. Resolve to keep on keepin’ on until we reach our destination.

I started thinking about this because I often have a client or two that struggles and even breaks down emotionally when it’s been particularly difficult to reach a new milestone. I have to remind them when it seems like they are just not seeing the results that they want (Most people want it yesterday. STAY OFF THE SCALE!), We are ALL different, ALL human and we ALL struggle from time to time.

It’s not so much about whether or not we struggle, stumble and fall but more about how long it takes to get back up. AND what we do once we are standing. What do you believe about yourself? How are you going to CHOOSE to shape your destiny?

The number one problem (in my opinion) that we all face in reaching our fitness and healthy lifestyle goals is consistency (or the lack thereof). BE CONSISTENT. So you fell off the wagon… Hurry up and jump back on before it gets too far down the road! Smile Besides, if your still planning on accomplishing that one thing, wouldn’t it be easier to get back “on the wagon” than to walk. lol

Hope that helps someone today! Happy Valentine’s Day if I don’t see you or hear from you tommorow.

PEACE,

Coach Scott

We’ve all heard the saying that Rome wasn’t built in a day. Well, neither were you. While no one wants their bodies to be compared to the size of a small country, it’s true. We allow ourselves to get out of shape one pound at a time. Every instance of over eating… Every alcoholic beverage that has more than double the calories… every fried food or treat added one more brick. I figured I’d make my first blog entry a word of encouragement. Encouragement to help you stay in the battle. Make up your mind and GO FOR IT!

Ask yourself why you want to change your life and once you have an answer, ask yourself why it’s important to you. You need to make up your mind and be totally convinced before you will find success. Totally convinced - not that you’ll succeed but convinced that … that is want you desire. Let your truest desire and passion fuel your success. YOU CAN MAKE IT! It may seem slow going at times, but believe it or not, once your mind is made up, you can probably get back into shape faster than you got out of shape.

Stop for a minute from all of the diet searches, exercise programs, gizmos, drugs and latest fads and look on the inside. The very thing you need to reach your goal is a buried treasure waiting to be found. And once discovered, it’s riches will set you free!
