Greetings and welcome to our little slice of interweb.
I would recommend a diet that's high in protein and don't cut out carbs, but be conscious of the ones you are eating.
Try to figure out how many calories you consume on the daily, a ballpark is fine. Then cut about 500 or so out. For example: a 2000 calorie diet with a moderate amount of exercise is a maintenance diet. You'll pretty much maintain whatever weight you're at. But if you cut 500 calories out, you'll be eating 1500 or so calories with moderate exercise you'll start losing weight. The key is to burn more than you consume.
A solid cardio workout plan with lighter weight/high reps would be my recommendation. If you need help putting something together we have a couple of really great people on here and we'll all help to put you on the right track!
Welcome to the family.
