Most dieters have dieted before and are pretty sure that they will end up dieting again.
The true goal for a dieter is not to become a thin person but a person of healthy weight who knows how to maintain that weight. That goes much deeper than just food and exercises, we all know, because food and exercise are really a whole lot more than just that.
I have not managed to maintain my weight where I want it to be, although on the other hand, I have been overweight, but not obese, and am usually dealing with 10 to 20 pounds, which doesn’t really make maintaining a whole lot easier.
Barbara from Refuse to Regain, a weight maintaining diet, put up a list of 8 things she has noticed help her maintain her weight.
I thought her first point was the most interesting.
1. I can’t let clutter accumulate anymore. I start to feel kind of anxious when stuff piles up, and I mean that physically and emotionally. It’s harder to think clearly. It’s second nature these days to put or throw things away after I use them or read them, and to address issues as they come up rather than allow them to fester in the back of my mind until they manifest themselves in a bowl of mashed potatoes.
I think that that kind of recognition - of things that push her to food, and ways of avoiding them are key to maintaining.
What do you think?
