I read an interesting post on The Sassy Pear about mind set while dieting. What actually got me thinking was the pantry contents that Jill mentioned, along with some of her commenters.
Jill’s pantry was pretty much bare at the time that she wrote the post. If that where my pantry, I would be gaining weight as I write this. I need to have a well stocked pantry and well planned meals, 6 a day, in order to lose weight. If there is not enough food around, or no possibility to have a good hot meal at least once a day, I will eat everything in sight, with no regard to the other stuff I had just put in my mouth.
The secret for me is acknowledging that I am eating, and trying to do so frequently and well to keep hunger at bay. At the slightest sign of hunger, or even possible hunger, I start eating like a possesed being.
I was wondering what your take on the matter is - do you have to make sure you eat often, and have the possibilty and ingredience to cook, or does something else work better for you?

Amen, Vanessa. Food security is often thought of as an issue for people who don’t have enough money to buy what they need. But dieters are victims of food security, too, even if it’s only in their heads. They deny themselves free access to food and end up viewing it like a starving person. Starving people overeat when they get food.
I agree.
