Foods That Help You Lose Weight By Neil Barnard Is the kind of title that I would be weary of. There are a lot of promises about magic cures and no effort diets that will make you lose weight without you contributing a thing to the effort, and they of course are nothing but empty promises to would be believers.
That is not the case however for this book.
Foods That Help You Lose Weight is in fact a well thought out book, of a very healthy concept, and if one would chose to live the life style Neil Barnard proposes in it, chances are that their health would improve and that they would indeed lose weight.
The book is based on several very basic concepts, that althought they are trivial in my mind, it seems that for many people - they are not.
Barnard preaches slow and healthy weight loss, by eating well (quantity wise and health wise) as in making sure that you are not hungry, thus avoiding the bodies tendency to slow down metabolism in order to avoid starvation, and also to avoid the urge to binge.
Also, eating well, choosing the types of food you eat by there nutritional value - as in low fat foods, and foods that have not been processed very much is beneficial to weight loss.
Weight Loss Journal also pointed out the fact that this book has a great recipe section for the people who are new to this kind of eating, with delicious recipes that don’t necessarily feel “diety”, which is just one more thing going for this book.
For my self, There is not a whole lot of news in this book, because I have been practicing not getting hungary and eating well for a period of time now, and find it is the best way for me to loose and keep the weight of. But for people who have been bouncing from one diet to another, and from one weight loss trend to another, this could be the book that stops that for them.
