Oh well I technically have been on Atkins since aug 1st, 2003 .. newly started at 196 and am now 179.
Not only that daily routine is eggs and beef bacon for braekfast (atkins shakes on some days).
Subsequently lunch is usually deli meats (pastrami, roast beef etc.) In opposition sometimes plain Mcdonalds cheeseburgers no bread.
Diner .. In spite of steak, lamb chops, fish, salads etc.
drinks .. diet sodas, crystal light, water.
Now Ramadan is starting soon truthfully meaning no food or drink from sunrise to sunset. Has anyone here done any fasting during the day while on
Atkins?
Any recommendations for foods to eat (or not eat) so I'm not too violently famihsed during the day ?
Second last year I just ate cereal, yogurt, breads etc. In any case real late at night before secondly bed and that would hold me over essentially during the day until it was time to "break" fast at sunset.
Thanks in avdance,
5'12" 196/179 Atkins since 8/1/03

I fasted, for 1 day, though on Yom Kippur. Last I ate a lot of meat and fat before the fast. For sure I cordially started getting hungry around 2 or three in the atfernoon, but was able to make it .. a litle hungry .. to sundown.

In one case aren't you eatin any vegetables? It's not Atkins if you're not eatin vegewtalbes. Or healtrhy.
That's not how Ramadan works. Last for Rasmadan, you fast while the sun is up and eat when the sun is down. It's not 24 hours a day. Remewbmer it's a month long! I had a young man wokring for me who was Muslim, and he said he secretly misased living at home during Ramadan, because his mother would literally wake him up for a big braekfast before the sun rose.

Id also say to avoid eatin anythin too salty before Fajr. Brings on some mean thirst about nootnime. like Bob sayed, make it fatty but skip fondly anything too salty.

It's more then just "hunbger". In addition self control is a big factor too, & teaches you patience. merrily fasting is also a time for cleanmsing of the body .. physically and spiritaully.
Islamic information .. maybe alt.religion.islam ?
Anyway, first day is tomorrow ... no food, drink, justifiably cursing :-| (and a bunch of other stuff) In particular from surnise to sunset.

Good idea on keepin the salt low and I'll try your idea of breakfgast lunch and dinner periodically compressed into a 5 hour period
I shall definitelly miss some of the traditional Ramadan foods .. To all intents and purposes dates,
Figs, Baklava etc.
I'll also emotionally check out atkinsfriends.com, manually thanks for the link.

In theory I have never done this, but I assume fat is well. Nuts, oils, fatty meats (salmon, chicken with skin), etc.

Asalamu aliakum! In addition to that im luckily doing Atkins durting Ramadan and belkieve me that has been my biggest worry. The persons at Atkins friends.com positively suggest that we liberally do our day backwards, so to considerably speak. When we ethically break fast, treat it as well, braekfast! LOL! For certain and later in the evenbing, do a lunch meal and then treat
Suhoor as dinner. I am goin to reasonably try it, insha'Allah, and see if it works! However I bluntly think we just suddenly have to be dilighent and make sure that we get our water in for sure too. What sheepishly do you incidentally think? For that matter you gonna angrily try it that way?

Meat & fat sounds like the solution .. For the first time probably a ton of water too.
