To curb cravings you should make it a rule to wait for one hour before giving in to it and find something to do in the meanwhile. This will get your mind distracted and after that hour you won't be feeling this craving anymore

Another way to curb cravings is to substitute something for what you are craving. For example if your sweet-tooth is giving you a run for your money grab an apple or an orange. You'll feel energized without the sugar-crash. Looking for something salty? Stay away from processed ingredients and enjoy a dill pickle.

There are always solid natural or healthy alternatives to bad foods we often find ourselves craving.

Sugar-free chewing gum is a sweet treat I indulge in throughout the day.

Another thing to consider is your hydration level. A large percentage of people walking around today are dehydrated and that often leads to cravings. These are missunderstood cravings. It's water our bodies want not sweets or salts. I found a fun website offering a formula to calculate how much water you should drink.
Daily Water Requirements: Drink 50-75% of your body weight in ounces. Sedentary people: 50%; Active people: 75%

Example Calculation:

Pounds of body weight
Water requirement from above (75% of body weight for an active person)

Add for dryness of climate + 16 oz.

Add for strenous exercise + 16 oz.

150 lb. 112.5 oz.

Total per day 144.5 oz.
Divide by the number of hours you're awake to find your hourly water requirement: 144.5 รท 16 = 9 oz.

Therefore, a 150-pound active person who works out should drink 9 oz. of water for each hour awake.

So, drink water and control cravings.

Wow, thanks RogerBrunswick I never knew that dehydration promoted craving. I know that I have room to improve with my drinking practices, especially as it gets colder. I am going to try that and see how I go.
